Many of you on my Instagram page wanted to know what hot dog buns I used for this recipe. The buns pictured here are simply New England Style Ball Park Frank's Buns!
What brand hot dogs due you use
HI June! I use Ball Park Franks! 🙂 Any kind is totally fine!
Came out delicious my whole family loved it .
That’s so great to hear Shantelle! This is my favorite way to use leftover chili. Thanks so much for the great comments and review!😀
What brand of hotdogs do you use?
I use New England Split-top Frankfurter hot dog buns 🙂
What brand of buns are you using for this recipe?
Ballpark Franks Hot Dog Buns! ☺️
Planning on trying this , they look delicious, what do you think about wrapping a piece of bacon around each hotdog and topping it with chili sauce, before baking. Would the bun get too soggy.
Hi Maureen! I think they might be too soggy, I think too much bacon grease would drip all over the rolls 🙁 Love the idea though!
Wow! I never thought to bake a hotdog in this way – but it was a-maz-ing! The bun was the super sort of crispy with the flavor of our chosen condiments. I made a crock pot of chili on New Years Day and used my chili, but topped with Stephanie’s delicious nacho cheese. Everything came together perfectly and with minimal effort. This will be how I cook hotdogs going forward in my life. Yum!
I’m so happy you were able to use your chili and combine that with my homemade nacho cheese for another yummy meal! It’s funny how most people don’t think to back hot dogs but it really is such a simple way to make a big batch! Thanks so much for the great comments and review Andrea!😍
It really does work! The outside of the bun is crispy, even the second day, and was a very fun way to make chili dogs. (The cheese is to-die-for!)
We were a bit skeptical as chili dogs are usually a mushy mess and this could actually be eaten by hand, well, if I hadn’t used ALL the cheese instead of only 1 cup.
A very quick and fun twist to another comfort food.
I’m so happy these were a hit Mona! I totally agree, most of the time you can’t even lift up a chili cheese dog, but these are baked just right so you can!😃 I love how easy this one is. Thanks so much for the great comments and review!❤️
Stephanie,
If these chili dogs are wrong, I don’t want to be right! These look absolutely amazing!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks so much Abbey! I feel that way about most food!
Delicious and super easy! I don’t think I’ve ever thought to bake hot dogs but it is so easy and delicious. I don’t think there is a quicker way to feed a hungry family of five! Thanks so much for the recipe Stephanie.
That’s so great to hear Violet! I know, when I first discovered this method I fell in love right away, it’s so easy! 🙂 Thank you so much for the review! -Stephanie
