Many of you on my Instagram page wanted to know what hot dog buns I used for this recipe. The buns pictured here are simply New England Style Ball Park Frank's Buns!
If anyone thinks chili cheese dogs, no big deal- These are a super BIG deal people! Please make these!
Really. I can’t explain how delicious these are. Meaty chili, gooey cheese, toasted bun. Ok, those words do not give justice. Please just make this and find out for yourself! I am not a fan of hot dogs, but Stephanie dogs are a next level gourmet creation!! (make the chili and sauce)
Lol you made me laugh when you called them Stephanie Dogs!🤣 I think I like that lol! I’m so happy you enjoyed these LeAnne, I actually think I’m making these tonight for the first Football game of the year!!!
You say bake them For 40 minutes well I live in a camper and we do not use the camper oven but we have a small convection oven. Should I not leave it as long
Hi Kathleen, I find that convection ovens tend to run a lot hotter, I can’t speak to yours specifically as I have only tested it as outlined.
Thank you for responding so I’m only doing three my husband eats too when I eat one so I saw another recipe or they say 30 minutes, so should I do 30 minutes for three
The baking time would be the same for 3 as it would for 6 🙂
I cannot believe how delicious these baked hot dogs are!!! I thought the rolls would get soggy for sure. Nope. What a great idea for the winter time or a football party. I will be sure to buy New England rolls for next time. Regular hot dog rolls work ok too. I topped mine with a little mustard, home made Texas Hot sauce instead of chili, and American cheese. Next time I make chili, I’ll save and freeze
some to make these. My husband loved them. I wrapped up the leftovers in foil for tomorrow’s lunch. Only critique is who makes 6 hot dogs? Eight hot dogs and 8 rolls come in each package. Make 8. Easy and delicious! Thanks, Stephanie!
I’m so happy that you and your husband loved it Renee!! I love your toppings – So good!!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review, AS always!! You’re the best!! 🙂
I’ll be trying these this summer for sure! I wish we could buy top split buns locally though. Guess I’ll settle for the others! Thanks for the recipe.
You’re very welcome Sharon! I can’t wait for you to try these. Enjoy!💖
Homemade chili or canned chili what’s the best
Homemade for sure!
What do you use to cover them ?
Foil or the lid of a baking dish! ☺️
Hi I plan to make these on Super Bowl sunday. Can I use shredded cheddar on top instead of cheese sauce?
Hi Denise! Yes you can! What a great Superbowl menu item! 🙂
