If you’ve been to Texas Roadhouse, you probably won’t be able to tell the difference between their delicious honey & cinnamon butter, and this. If you’ve never been there, you have to try this. The sweet cinnamon/honey/butter combo is to die.

I’ve masted the art of making their rolls too- they’re spot on, and perfect with this sweet butter. And when I say that I’ve “mastered the art”, I mean…I used yeast that wasn’t expired. (Did that once, didn’t work out well.)- But attempt #2 worked out perfectly. And after just a day, they’re almost gone. Those glistening, buttery, soft rolls have a hint of honey flavor and are just way too good.

Ingredients

  • High-quality Butter
  • Honey
  • Cinnamon
  • Powdered Sugar

The Key To Creamy Butter

To ensure that your butter is creamy and smooth, use high quality butter.

Ensure that it has been at room temperature for at least an hour. Don’t microwave it to achieve this as it will mess with the consistency.

What Brand of Butter is Best?

Grade AA butter is the highest quality butter you can find, if you are able to get your hands on some.

Cabot Salted Butter is definitely better than store-brand butter and is what I love using for this recipe.

What Does Honey Butter Taste Like?

  • Honey butter is a delicious combination of salty and sweet, and there is a touch of honey flavor in there as well. It tastes perfectly with various breads, rolls, muffins, pancakes and even sweet potatoes.Whipped honey butter in a glass bowl.

Storage

  • Honey butter can be stored in the refrigerator for a week. You can even freeze it but taking chilled honey butter and placing it in between some wax paper and wrapping plastic wrap around it.

  1. Hi, Do you know if the brand of powdered sugar matters? Is there any specific brand that is the best?

  2. I make homemade butter from cream right from the cow it makes great Cinnamon butter the grandkids can’t get enough

  3. How do you store the butter? How long can you store it for? How many rolls does 1 batch cover?

    • Hi Genna, the butter can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a week. You can even freeze it but taking chilled honey butter and placing it in between some wax paper and wrapping plastic wrap around it. This recipe makes 8 tablespoons of butter. That’s enough for about 16 rolls 🙂

  4. SO good on the copycat Texas Roadhouse rolls! I added quite a bit more cinnamon because I wanted more of a cinnamon flavor.

  5. Very good 👍

  6. The butter turned out tasty!! Is there any advice, on how to get the butter fluffy? Almost like a whipped cream consistency, similar to the restaurant?

    • Hi Vienna! Make sure the butter is definitely at room temperature and give it sufficient time with the hand mixer- this incorporates more air and makes it light and fluffy. It should nearly double in size. ❤️

  7. Absolutely delicious BUt next time I will only use 2 to 3 T of powdered sugar, taste as you add, and I threw in a tiny bit of vanilla, so so fantastic I can eat it by itself…

  8. My grandson said it was “The best 🍯 honey butter ever! Better than Texas Roadhouse’s!”👍

  9. Omg!! This butter might be one of the greatest things I’ve ever eaten!!!!
FYI, I used Earth Balance soy free vegan butter and it was perfect. I liked it even better the the Texas Roadhouse version!!

    • Wahooo! I’m so happy to hear that Courtney, It’s great to know if came out so well with Vegan butter! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment and leave a review!💗

  10. Turned out really good was was delicious only complaint mine turned out to be more of a biscuit than a roll. But it was probably because I used bread flour and I baked it longer than I should have but still really good.

    • I’m glad that you loved it! These definitely do have the consistency of a roll vs. a biscuit, I don’t think the bread flour would have resulted in a biscuit-like consistency but perhaps the consistency of the dough wasn’t quite as smooth after it was kneaded? I’m glad it worked out though!!

As Seen On…
